Childcare job opportunity

This job is a wonderful opportunity for a student just beginning the program and taking evening classes during the 2013-14 school year. Amy Striem is an educator looking for a daytime sitter to care for her newborn son and commit to working with their family for the academic school year. The position requires a commitment of 20-30 hours ($12-15 an hour depending on experience) a week with some flexibility regarding scheduling.

Primary responsibility will be caring for a newborn and helping care for a 9-year-old, fourth grade daughter afterschool. We live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn off of the Bedford Avenue L subway stop.

An ideal candidate should have experience working with children and be comfortable caring for newborns. Additionally, candidates must be comfortable with cats and dogs. The position requires Infant First Aid and CPR, which will be paid for by employer.
