Course Overview:

This interactive course is the second 3-course credit online course in the Advanced Certificate Program designed in conjunction with Teachers College’s Summer Institute, Reimagining Education: Teaching and Learning in Racially Diverse Schools. This course builds on the groundwork created by the Summer Institute in July and the first online course in the fall.

Learning Objectives:

This course is designed to build a bridge for students to move from a place of understanding racial literacy and how racial hierarchies within the field of education constrain opportunities for their students. This course offers the skills needed to take theory into practice when examining issues of race, equity, leadership, and curriculum development. This spring course will Introduce, Connect, Develop, and Challenge students to key concepts and deep-seated issues in our country and our schools.
