You are cordially invited to the National edTPA Conference, a one-day conference that gathers education stakeholders concerned about edTPA to explore challenges, questions, and possibilities for initiatives.

The conference will be held on Saturday, March 8th from 9:00am-5:00pm at Barnard College. The aim is provide a space for various stakeholders–such as teacher educators, scholars, student teachers, teachers, and parents–to convene, educate, and organize through panels and dialogue. With these aims and purposes in mind, the day will be structured around the following:

· An overview of edTPA in which invited panelists provide a macro perspective on edTPA, such as a history of the policy and its implications for teacher education and/or teacher evaluation

· A panel on the first-hand experiences of teacher educators involved with the implementation of edTPA and preservice teachers who have undergone the evaluation

· A presentation of how different institutions and groups are coping with issues and challenges

· Multiple opportunities for discussion and dialogue towards further initiatives

More information about scheduling and registration can be found here.

As New York State moves towards the implementation of edTPA on May 1, 2014, we hope that our conference can spark genuine dialogue and generate new, unique collaborations. Hope to see you there on March 8th!
