Job Opportunity: 4th grade leave position at The Dalton School for the 2019-2020 school year.

The 4th grade teacher is responsible for social studies and language arts curriculum and instruction and co-teaches mathematics. Curricular content includes: historic immigration to the United States, including Ellis Island, Angel Island, the Pilgrims and the Transatlantic Slave Trade; reading instruction and literary analysis; and the writing process, incorporating links to literature and social studies explorations. As part of the grade 4-8 one-to-one laptop program, lessons in the 4th grade also incorporate and emphasize the study of digital communication and citizenship.
Full-time teachers in the 4th grade also serve as House Advisors, working with a group of 4th graders as the primary point of contact for the students and parents. House Advisors collaborate as a  4th grade team to develop House curriculum on grade-specific topics and community building programs.
Master degree in education or teaching strongly preferred, in addition to lead teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school settings.
