About Manhattan School for Children:

Manhattan School for Children, P.S. 333 is a K-8 school located on the upper west side. We are a progressive school that believes that all students are gifted in multiple ways. We are student centered with a project-based pedagogical focus and instructional program grounded in the philosophy that we are a community of learners. Students of different racial/ethnic, socio-economic, as well as physical and academic abilities, come together to learn.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an Elementary School Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaches a rigorous, creative classroom that validates and supports each child.

Commits to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of teachers.

Is collaborative and reflective about one’s practice.

Qualifications:

Certified middle school ELA Teacher prepared to teach in NYC public schools

Knowledge of and experience with the Common Core Learning Standards

Knowledge of progressive education

Positive attitude toward the classroom and community at large

Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with students and their families

At least two years of teaching experience (strongly preferred)

Experience with child centered differentiated curricula (preferred)

Experience with Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project (preferred)
