Design for Educators serves as an introductory studio-based course on communication design. It will familiarize students with four areas of design: print media, web-based media, time-based media, and 3D media. The course will explore applications in design learning and thinking through hands-on making and will use an array of tools and software used in design––which can be employed by educators coming from diverse fields. As part of the assignments, students will design and build a web-based portfolio to visualize their learning processes, research interests, and teaching methods as educators. This 5-day course is designed for students and professionals from all disciplines.
