Teacher Diversity: Policy and Practice–Friday, December 8, 2017

| November 28, 2017

Dear TC community,

Diversity, be it amongst students, school teachers or university faculty, has been an important topic of conversation over the last few years. Teacher diversity, in particular, has been a hard nut to crack. Discussions on teacher diversity has many facets: What do we mean by diverse teachers? How is diverse teaching different from teacher diversity? Is the lack of teacher diversity a supply problem? What are schools and districts doing right and what are they doing wrong when it comes to improving teacher diversity? EPSA’s Policy Student Network is hosting two panel discussions to discuss all these questions and more!

Please join us in Milbank Chapel on Friday, 8th of December 2017 from 4 pm to 6 pm, to engage with some very interesting and diverse speakers on the issue of Teacher Diversity. Our speakers include TC faculty, members of advocacy groups, NYC DoE, teachers and two representatives from teacher unions. Refreshments and drinks will follow the event and give you a chance to make the most of the opportunity to interact with our panelist in person!
